After eight rounds of voting, the counting and results of the elections in four states and a union territory of India, including West Bengal, are being announced today. In West Bengal, incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Trinamool Congress is leading by a wide margin.
According to Anandabazar online, the Trinamool Congress is leading in 206 seats by 1 pm. On the other hand, India’s central ruling party BJP is leading in 83 seats.
All votes may be counted in the evening. But, at 1 pm, the grassroots crossed 200. However, Firhad Hakim, a Trinamool leader in the state, said it was not the time for India to show signs of overcrowding. He said, “There will be no victory procession in this victory.
This is not the time to rejoice. How many people are dying in the state. Many of my own relatives have died. Not even many of those who voted for me. In this situation, I do not have the mental state to celebrate the victory procession.
