Bill Gates, the world’s richest man, and his wife Melinda Gates have announced the end of their 27-year marriage. They confirmed the separation in a joint tweet on Monday (May 3rd).
However, it is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving. However, despite the separation, they have confirmed that they will continue to work for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a charity they founded.
A statement from the Gates Foundation said, “Bill Gates and Melinda will continue to work together to approve the foundation’s strategic issues, determine all legal issues and the organization’s overall direction.”
However, while the future of the foundation is certain, neither side has yet commented on how the joint venture between Bill Gates and Melinda will be divided or what the separation agreement will be. They have appealed to the court to end the marital relationship. They also applied for business interests, liability and sharing of jointly owned property under the separation agreement.
