The situation in the Indian capital, Delhi, is dire. In the last 24 hours, 357 people have died in Corona. The hospitals are overcrowded with corona patients. The number of deaths due to oxygen crisis is increasing. Twenty-five corona patients died at a Delhi hospital yesterday due to lack of oxygen. In such a situation, the ongoing lockdown in the capital has been extended for one week. This was reported in the Indian media The Hindu.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told a news conference on Sunday that the lockdown would continue till 5 am on May 3.

“We gave the last six days of lockdown,” Kejriwal said. This was the last weapon we had against Corona. But corona infections are not diminishing despite the lockdown. The lockdown is being extended for one week by talking to each department.

The Delhi chief minister said the number of infections was 36-37 per cent at the beginning of the lockdown but now it has come down to 30 per cent. This rate of infection needs to be brought down further.

Meanwhile, the Indian Ministry of Health said on Sunday that more than 349,000 people across the country were diagnosed with corona on Saturday and 2,760 people died of corona on that day.

For the fourth day in a row, more than 300,000 people in India have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease and the death toll has risen to more than 2,000 for five days in a row.

India is currently in the most vulnerable position compared to the global Corona situation. In the United States, which is in the second position, 63 thousand 206 people were caught on Saturday. More than 50,000 cases have not been identified in any country except the United States.
