Army members have been instructed to help hospitals in India to prevent the spread of the Corona epidemic. In addition, emergency medical supplies have been sent from the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States.
According to a report in the Times of India, in addition to helping the hospitals, they have also been instructed to supply oxygen stored for the army to the hospitals.
The country’s Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawan held a high-level meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. After the meeting, Bipin Rawat gave this instruction to the army.
Meanwhile, the Hindustan Times reports that all doctors who retired from the Indian Armed Forces two years ago are being reinstated. They have been assigned to work at the Covid Center near their home. Apart from this, retired nursing staff from the army will also be deployed in the Corona War, Rawat said.
General Bipin Rawat informed the Prime Minister that other retired medical staff have been requested to provide services through the emergency helpline. Efforts are being made to extend the medical system of the army to the common man.
At the meeting, medical officers working at the Command Headquarters, Corps Headquarters, Divisional Headquarters and Indian Navy and Air Force Headquarters will be assigned to deal with covid at the hospital. The hospital has also been told to recruit a large number of nursing staff along with doctors.
