Bangladesh’s ‘Rickshaw Girl’ Movie at South African Film Festival


Popular producer Amitabh Reza Chowdhury’s second film ‘Rickshaw Girl’ is taking part in the Durban International Film Festival in South Africa. The movie will also take part in the competition along with the screening at the festival. The film festival will be held from July 22 to August 1 this year.

Citing the film’s producer Eric J. Adams, Amitabh Reza added on Facebook that the movie can now be submitted to the Oscars.

“I have quoted my producer about the Oscars,” Amitabh Reza told NTV Online on Tuesday afternoon. I do not know the details in this context. However, I have heard that as a result of this arrangement, it is easier to submit a movie to the Oscars.

Meanwhile, when the movie is going to be released in Bangladesh, the producer’s answer is, ‘I don’t know exactly.’

The movie ‘Rickshaw Girl’ is based on the novel ‘Rickshaw Girl’ by Mitali Perkins, an American author of Indian descent. Novera Chowdhury has acted in the central character. Besides, Champa, Momena Chowdhury, Naresh Bhuiyan, Nasir Uddin Khan, Allen Shuvro, Rupkatha, Ashok Bepari, Siam Ahmed and others are acting. The screenplay of the movie has been made by Sharbari Johra Ahmed.

Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, who is very popular as an advertisement maker, has also produced many plays. In 2016, his first movie ‘Ainabaji’ was released in Dhaka.
